It’s a C&R Dance Party!

Forget the CD Exchange (if I don’t participate, it doesn’t exist) let’s have a music exchange right here at Cocky & Rude!  Each time we have a C&R Dance Party, I’ll name a theme for the day and you’ll post your responses in the form of a YouTube video in the comments.  And don’t forget to dance!

Today’s Theme Is: The Beatles!
What is one of your favorite Beatles songs, covers or mash-ups?
Link us to a YouTube video in the comments and tell us why you picked it.
Feel free to answer more than once!

Yesterday I listened to most of The Beatles 2006 remix album, Love.  I absolutely love Blackbird/Yesterday, in which the classic Blackbird provides a wonderful introduction for Yesterday.  It’s truly beautiful, and I always find myself overcome with emotions while listening to it.  Here it is, for you to enjoy (and feel free to squirt a few tears while listening):

Now it’s your turn!

(And by the way, if your video doesn’t post in the comments correctly, FEAR NOT!
I’ll fix it as soon as I get a chance)

  1. I’m not really a fan of the Beatles, although Rufus Wainwright’s cover of Across The Universe is pretty good.

  2. Kurt’s I Wanna Hold Your Hand from Glee is gonna be my imaginary wedding song when they finally legalize marriage between man and TV.

  3. I was going to go with something by Beatallica, but then remembered this cover by Realm from the late 80s. Ahead of their time, they were.

    1. I gave your comment a thumbs down because your video isn’t embedded and I suspect you’re the culprit in giving my comment a thumbs down cause of your Glee hate.

    1. I think because we’re all too young to have experienced the invasion. They really have an amazing catalog of music. Growing up, I heard their music all the time from my older siblings playing it. I like them, but it has but it is too familiar.

  4. Well, I own Revolver if that counts for anything because it’s a great album but there’s none that scream “God, I love this song.” I like “Paperback Writer,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Hey Jude,” and “Come Together,” enough but not enough to post them as links. I await the next dance party!

  5. I LOVE the Beatles. It’s too hard to pick a favorite. I like the ballads the best. I think I’m going to go with “The Long and Winding Road” for now. And here’s my favorite Beatles cover:
